Midas (typically known as King Midas) was the character inside Greek mythology, who is mostly recognized for his ability to turn anything he touched into gold.
He was King of Pessinus, a city within Phrygia in Asia Minor, who as a tyke was adopted by Gordias and Cybele. He was known for existence the hedonist, & an first-class rose gardener, and based on data from a myth, he got 1 boy, Lityerses, but within the bit of variations of the myth he experienced the girl (title unknown) instead of a boy.

Background
Historically these are known that Midas was king of Phrygia in the 8th century BC. The Myth
When, Dionysus, the god of wine, discovered his old school master & foster-father, Silenus, missing. Midas recognized him, & treated him hospitably, entertaining him for decade times & nights using politeness, when Silenus entertained Midas & his friends by owning stories & songs. On the eleventh day he brought Silenus back to Dionysus. Dionysus offered Midas his selection of whatever reward he wanted. Midas asked that whatever he will touch should exist as changed into gold. Dionysus consented, though was regretful that he experienced non manufactured the better selection. Midas rejoiced around his newly power, which he hastened to put to a trial. He touched & turned to gold an oak branchlet & the stone. Overjoyed, when soon when he had house, he ordered the servants to placed a feast negotiable. So he observed that his bread, meat & wine turned to gold & became uneatable. He observed that whilst he touched his girl, she turned into the statue too. This processed him understand a bad selection he'd mass produced.

Upset, Midas strove to divest himself of his power (a "Midas Touch"); he despised a gift he got coveted. He prayed to Dionysus, begging to exist as delivered from either starvation. Dionysus heard & consented; he told Midas to do in the flow of any stream Pactolus. He did sol, & once he touched a waters a power passed into a flow of any stream, & a flow of any stream sands became changed into gold. (Note: this explained how come a flow of any stream Pactolus was then rich within gold)

Midas, hating wealth & splendor, moved to the united states, & became the worshipper of Pan, the god of the fields. It used to be that Pan experienced a audacity to compare his music therewith of Apollo, and to challenge Apollo, a god of the lyre, to a test of skill. Tmolus, the mountain-god, was chosen to umpire. Pan blew in his pipes, & by having his rustic melody gave awesome satisfaction to himself & his close follower, Midas, world health organization happened to exist as present. So Apollo struck a strings of his lyre. Tmolus at when awarded a triumph to Apollo, & virtually Midas agreed by using a judgment. He dissented, & questioned a justice of the award.
